On October 30, the mainline of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway (Nanzhong Expressway) and the Nansha Link (Wanquingsha branch) officially opened to traffic, constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group.
The 32.4-kilometer expressway, part of China’s G2518 and Guangdong’s S78 highways, crosses the core of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group’s initial segment spans 4.211 kilometers, including the construction of Hongqimen, Shazijiao, and Erjiaoli bridges.
The new Nanzhong Expressway creates a Y-shaped network, linking Nansha with Guangdong’s northern and western regions, as well as Shenzhen and Hong Kong to the east, promoting integration and economic growth within the Greater Bay Area.
